Mexico’s national team head coach Miguel Herrera announced his 23-player list for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil last Friday in Mexico City.
In a press conference, Herrera revealed which twenty-three players will represent “El Tri” in Brazil as Mexico heads to its fourteenth World Cup with high hopes after having lots of trouble qualifying to it.
Three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and five strikers will start their participation in Brazil against Cameroun on June 13th.
– Jose de Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul, Mexico): Many think Corona should be the starting goalkeeper for Mexico in this World Cup and why shouldn’t he? “Chuy” has proven to be a trustworthy player and leader on the field. Corona recently won the CONCACAF Champions League championship with Cruz Azul and helped Mexico win the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
